Handbridge Medical Centre

The doctors and staff at Handbridge Medical Centre in Chester are proud to offer the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare. We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well-person check-ups.

Please be aware that a certain number of Doctors appointments are available to pre-book up to two weeks in advance. See appointments section for more details.

The surgery will be shut between 12.30 - 5.00pm for training purposes on Tuesday 21st May. We are closed for Bank Holidays on the following dates;  Monday 27th May, Monday 26th August, Wednesday 25th December, Thursday 26th December

Please see "out of hours" section if you need to contact a doctor or nurse as an emergency over these periods. 

An Extended Hours Clinic runs 6.30pm-8pm weekdays and Saturdays 10am – 12 Noon on the Countess of Chester Health Park site, routine appointments can be booked by calling 01244 385422.

The Out of Hours Service operates overnight and at weekends on 01244 385300.
